Maroma Resort, Riviera Maya,
Mexico
|
Not
enough can be said about it !
|

|
Just south of Cancun near Puerto Morelos, hidden from the main road,
is an elegant newcomer on the Riviera Maya. Maroma, a
gourmet retreat with attentive service, handsome rooms, and superb dining. The Maroma resort is a 36 room hacienda-style estate offering
reception to two-story accommodations. Mayan and Moorish roots can be seen in palapa
roofs, archways, and other details. Rooms have no phones or TV; baths have only
showers.

 |
MAROMA
combines the elegance of Yucatan's historical "Haciendas"
with the turquoise brilliance of Mexico's Caribbean coastline, giving you the best of both
worlds.
The owner architect, who was
one of the pioneers of Cancun, bought this beautiful bay in 1976 when it was just a beach
side coconut grove. His original idea was to create a simple beach cottage where he
could come to fish, swim and languish in the tropical sun. Since then Maroma has
slowly evolved into a small collection of hand-crafted buildings where guests are treated
like honored family. Their staff is devoted to pampering you with their handmade
hospitality, insuring an enjoyable and
memorable vacation. |

In
an area where resorts offer just about everything except peace and quiet, here we have a
fine place to relax in splendid isolation.
Maroma, an isolated 530 acres tract of jungle, bordered by miles of ivory beach and
perfectly turquoise waters, that had once been a working coconut plantation, has 36 rooms
and suites plus one villa, all of them rustically luxurious with king size beds, open
style bath with sunken tub, air conditioned, ceiling fan and individually decorated with
bamboo shutters, Mexican tile and fabrics, original paintings, furniture from our own
workshops and unique examples of local arts and crafts.
