Personal
Domains
A Basic Business Requirement |
Why?
You
have a cell phone ?
You
have a business card ?
Now you
can have a permanent personal website and business email that need never change
You are
paid by your results, commission, percentage split, or fees and need to constantly network
and promote your services
You are
or plan to be in business for yourself ?
It is
uniquely yours, forever - people can always contact you no matter what current or future
career you are involved with. (Really consider this aspect) |
Who?

How Much? (CDN):
$100
one time to register your name, create and activate your landing page site. (This is my
fee - my hourly rate for additional web services, is $30 per hour) Plus,
$29.95
per year for a .ca domain - I prefer .ca domains as it identifies you are Canadian and
there is more availability than .com. Annual cost can be as low as $16.95 per year if you
pre-pay multiple years.
$6.00
per month for hosting - this is a server where your website files will be placed - this
rate will provide 50 MB of space and 4GB monthly traffic (lots and lots for a small site)
- or if preferred use your personal webspace that may be available with your internet
service (eg. Shaw) and forward your new domain to there. |
What If?
I
already have an email for work . . . no problem keep it and forward your new email to that
account, it is seamless
I
already have an online presence and never plan to leave my current career (really?) -
having your own domain will never detract from your current efforts, it will always
support and enhance your promotional activities |
Perspective:
$30 is
the cost of one business lunch - a personal domain is yours forever
$6 a
month is one tenth the cost of your cell service
$100
investment for your own, personal website is less than you spend on business cards in a
year |

|
| www.contactme.ca
means that people can reach you no matter where you go,or what business you are with/in,
for the rest of your life. Imagine what this would mean for you the next time you have to
send out letters to your contacts informing them of your new position. A personal domain
is an online business card that will always be current and up to date. |
| If
you do not currently have a domain name, are you convinced that you need one right now?
The small fee that you pay per year for your own domain name is peanuts compared to the
benefits that you get. You can check out the availability of domain names and register new
domains here. |
