Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is a place you will love. Although this small city is growing rapidly, it still manages to maintain some of that quaint fishing village charm. The wide beaches are lined mostly with smaller hotels and thatched-roof bars. The daytime action seems to run along a stretch of beach between the Pelicano and Blue Parrot hotels. At night, the action moves one block back from the beach onto 5th Avenue. This is a pedestrian boulevard wher you will find great restarurants, bars and shops. The main nightlife here is strolling 5th Avenue or people-watching from one of the sidewalk tables. |

| Xel-Ha is located on the eastern portion of the Yucatan Peninsula, 75 miles south of Cancun. Its 22 acres of lagoons, coves and inlets carved into the surrounding limestone make Xel-Ha a popular snorkeling destination, and is often combined with a trip to the Mayan city of Tulum (which is only about seven miles further south). In ancient times, Xel-Ha was considered a highly important place for the Mayan. It was a sanctuary, a sacred city in which rituals and dances of honor to the different gods of the Mayan mythology took place. | |
